Scooters/Bikes Safe Riding Tips

We are glad you are part of the CyberCart crew. Riding is a blast, but a little attention to safety goes a long way in making sure every ride ends with a smile. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you hit the road.

Check Who Should Ride

Children under 8 should ride with adult supervision at all times. Our products each have a recommended rider age – these have been set by our experts based on the skill level and size needed to operate the ride safely. Products should not be ridden by anyone under the recommended age limit.

Always Wear Your Safety Gear

Never ride without a certified helmet. Knee pads and elbow pads are strongly recommended. Wear closed shoes with rubber soles, tie your laces tight so they stay away from the wheels, and do not ride barefoot or in sandals.

Read Your Manual First

Read the owner's manual before your first ride. It helps you understand how your scooter/bike works and how to keep it running safely. Keep it nearby for future reference.

Get Your Scooter/Bike Ready

Before you head out, check your tire pressure and look for any serious wear. Make sure everything is tightened, and replace any worn or broken parts right away. Clean your ride with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust.

Know Where You Can Ride

Different places have different rules, so learn what is allowed where you live. In some countries, like the UK, riding an electric scooter on public roads or sidewalks is not currently legal, so you should only ride on private property with the owner's permission. For non-powered rides like kick scooters, stay away from traffic, always watch for pedestrians around you, and when in doubt, get off and walk across the road.

Start Slow and Get Comfortable

Give yourself time to get to know your ride before riding with others. Find an open space to practice turning and braking at different speeds. Keep both hands on the handlebars at all times.

Always Use Caution

No matter how long you have been riding, always use caution. Avoid steep hills and do not ride too fast. Follow the advice in the manual and use your ride as intended.

Use Cruise Control the Right Way

Cruise control lets your ride hold a steady speed without keeping your thumb on the accelerator. When the system is on and you have been riding at a steady speed for about five seconds, it will activate on its own. You will know it is working when the cruise control icon stays lit on your dashboard. To turn it off, simply tap the brake or press the accelerator again.
